A whale?

I found out about this story from a friend who went to France. She saw at the entrance at a gym hall a poster that had a picture of a skinny girl, and below it was written : " What would you like to be this summer : a mermaid or a whale?". Near this add it was posted a responce from a young women, answering this :

" Dear gentlemen,

Whales are always surrounded by friends ( dolphins, sea lions, curios people ). They have an active sexual life, they get pregnant, they have little cute whales that nurse them.Whales are having fun with dolphins and cram their bellies with shrimps. They play and swim, they wonder all over the seas, visiting beautiful places like Patagonia, Barens sea or coral reefs of Polinezia.

Whales can sing very well and they even records CDs. They are impressive, and they don`t have enemies, except for people sometimes. They are being loved and admired by everyone.

On the other way, mermaids are not real. And even if there were real, they would have stayed in line to shrink, because they would have a personality problem : "woman or fish ?".

They don`t have a sex life because they would have killed every men around them, and then how could they have a sex life? Because of this they wouldn`t have any kids. They were indeed beautiful, but they were also alone and sad.

Anyway, who would want to be near a woman that smel like fish?

For me is certain, I wanna be a whale!!!

PS: In our days, when mass-media teach us the ideea that beautiful women are the skinny ones, I prefer relax myself eating an ice cream with my children, having a great dinner with a men that makes me shaking or drinking a coffee and having a cookie with my friends.

PSS :With time we gain weight because we gather a lot of knowledge and information, and when they don`t fit in the head anymore, they are distributed in the rest of the body. So...we are not fat, we are awfully cultured.

From today on when I`m going to look to my bootie in the mirror, I will tell to myself :" GOD ...I AM SO INTELIGENT !!!"

I AM SO INTELIGENT

My opinion

This story reminds me of those young skinny models that are fighting with anorexy ( the image of mermaid ) and of young mothers that are enjoing their family life ( the image of the whale ). It`s a great point of view and I admire that whale.I can certanly say that I am a whale!!

I enjoyed reading your hub. I can see you doing a children's book on this if your up to the challenge. I think that you maybe able to do this, as it is an important message to send to little girls who taught at an early age that being fat is ugly. Let me know what you think!

Real women have nice curves. TV and hollywood is giving girls a bum deal.

I love it! And I agree with what you say, and the message of skinny mermaids being good, and the large, blubbery whales being bad. I'll be a happy whale any day!!

I love it, the most important thing is to love yourself for who you are and for what you have to give to your loved ones. Looks come and go, and sometimes are the source of distress and dissapointment for not loooking the way you think you should.

Nicely put. I am but a walrus and happy to be so. I have fun too and many friends.

I quite agree that being skinny is overrated and glad you like whales, :). Great advice!

Thought this sentence was funny and ironic, "Anyway, who would want to be near a woman that smells like fish?"
